COIL
Coil is an English experimental electronic music group formed in 1982 in London and disbanded in 2005. Coil’s founding members, John Balance and Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson, came from the bands Psychic TV and Throbbing Gristle. Coil’s work explored themes related to the occult, sexuality, alchemy and drugs.
Scheduled with Rotorelief Records
It is planned to use recordings of selected tracks from Coil, a conceptual project granted and authorized by Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson heard during 2008, which has been in stanbye since the latter’s disappearance in 2010. These tracks will be combined with the first 100 copies of the Coilectif album in tribute to John and Coil published in 2006, and which will be accompanied by genuine (unpriced) postage stamps from each of the 17 artists, set aside for this project, to also pay tribute today to Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson and Ian Johnstone.
Rare and personal pieces entrusted to me by Peter and John throughout the Coil period will be on display.
